The
Gower Chorale is a well established choir based in
Oystermouth,Swansea. Its aim is:-
To advance public education and appreciation of classical choral music by presenting public concerts in Mumbles and the surrounding area and through the provision of tuition and training for young soloists and to or for such charitable purposes as the trustees shall decide.
The choir
meet
most Tuesdays from 7pm to 9pm in the Victoria Hall , Oystermouth. It
currently has over 50 members and wishes actively to encourage others
to join them. If you are interested, please contact me on 01792
207950. I am sure anyone joining us for a first time will find a warm
welcome and soon be at ease and feel that they are among fellow
singers.
As I come towards the end of my year as chairman I would like to take
this opportunity to thank all our sponsors for their continued support
and generosity, which is very much appreciated by The Chorale. May I
also say a big thank you to all our supporters, old and new, who
faithfully turned up at All Saints Church for our recent concert on 9th
May. Your support was tremendous and appreciated by committee and
choristers alike. The feed-back from the evening was that all who
attended thoroughly enjoyed the programme. A big thank you for this
must go to Luke Spencer, our new Musical Director. His enthusiasm and
energy has certainly rubbed off on us ‘older’ choristers.
A thank you must also go to our two soloists, Claire Powell and Susan
Thomson and also the Festival Orchestra of Wales who were giving their
debut performance. Thank you Robert and Mansel.
Finally, ‘thank you’ choristers for the dedication and hard
work you have put in during the weeks leading up to the concert, which
in no small way added to the success of the evening. Thank you all.
